November Elections Predictions

Ohio 5th District Primary: The 5th is heavily Republican with a Cook partisen voting index of R+10, so the winner of the Republican Primary is most likely the winner. The Democrats have two candidates, George Mayes, and owner of a DJ company and Robin Weirauch, a public administrator who was the Democratic party's candidate in the 5th in 04 and 05. Weirauch's name rec. should be enough to easily get her the nomination and lose the seat for the third time. The Republicans have five candidates with state senator Steve Buehrer and state rep. Bob Latta the most serious of the five. Two weeks ago the Latta campaine released a poll showing him 19 points ahead of Bueher, however earlier this week the club for growth releaced a poll showing Bueher with a 3 point lead over Latta. Five days away from the election it seems as though either Latta or Buehrer could win. Prediction: Latta by 2 to 5 points.

Kentucky Governor: Along with the Louisiana gubernatorial election last month, the Kentucky gubernatorial election is the most anticipated election of 2007. The Democrats have nominated ex-Lieutenant Governor Steave Beshear for governor and state Senator Daniel Mongiardo for Lt. Governor. The Republicans have renominated Governor Ernie Fletcher and have nominated Robbie Rudolph for Lt. Governor. Ever since Fletcher defeated ex-Congresswoman Ann Northrup in the primary, all the polls have shown Beshear winning by a large margine, since Governor Fletcher is viewed as corrupt and is highly unpopular with most of the state. Prediction: Beshear by 12 to 18 points.

Mississippi Governor: The Mississippi governor's race has been relativly ignored since the popular republican governor Haley Barbour is running for re-election. Barbour's Democratic opponent will be personal injury lawyer John Eaves. The Democrats really never had a chance in this race, so Barbour should move on to re-election easily. Prediction: Barbour by 15 to 20 points.

October election Predictions

Louisiana: The incombents will all win reelection. In the governor's race, Jindal will get the most votes by a wide margin, the only question is whether he will get to 50% to avoid a run off. Recent polls show Jindal at between about 60% to about 45%, however there seems to be a downward trend to his numbers. If Jindal fails to get to 50%, his oponent will most likely be Louisina State Senator Walter Boasso. Earlier this year Boasso switched his party registration back to the Democratic party (he had originaly been a Democrat who joined with the Republicans in the 1990's). Independent candidate John Georges, CEO of Imperial Trading Company, has come within one or two precentage points in some recent polls to Boasso.

Prediction: Jindal will receive 48% or 49%, comeing just shy of securing election. Jindal's opponent will be Boasso, who beats out Georges with 12% to 20% of the vote. Jindal will be heavily favored to win in the run-off.

Massachussets 5th CD: The front runner for this seat is Democrat Niki Tsongas. The Republican opponant is Retiered Air Force Officer Jim Ogonowski. Many Republicans feel they have a shot at the seat, since it is among the least liberal in Massachussets. Ogonowiski is running on an anti-tax, anti-immigration, and anti-establishment platform.

Prediction: The Republicans often sight a Survay USA poll from last month, which showes Niki Tsongas with a 51% to 41% advantage over Ogonowski as proof that Tsongas may be vaulnerable. However the 5th while it is one of the more moderate democratic seats, is still solidly Democratic with a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+9. The Media attention that Ogonowski has received will likely prevent Tsongas from wining by an extream blowout, however I see little chance that Ogonowski could win. I predict Tsongas by 8 to 15 points.

Washington
loss 44-31 to UCLA
Not as close as the score looked.
Record: 2-2

Washington St
loss 47-14 to USC
Anything Wazzu can do USC can do better. WSU is simply not a factor in the Pac-10 and it would be a miracle if they become bowl eligible.

Oregon
win 55-31 over Stanford
Oregon was down 10 at the half, but Stanford became Stanfor in the 2nd half
record 4-0

Oregon State
loss 44-32 to Arizona St
Led for much of the game. Would have been a good win to take focus off of blow out loss to Cincinnati.

Good Showing against #2 D-II team. Maybe the Vikings will be decent after all.

Your NW College football recap:
Washington:
loss 33-14 to Ohio St:
Washington played better than score showed, choking in several scoring oppertunities. Record: 2-1

Washington State:
Win 45-28 over Idaho
Offence looked good, but you should never give up 28 to Idaho. Third straight unimpressive game for the Cougs. Will need to play better than their first three games to win any in the Pac-10. Record: 2-1

Oregon:
Win 52-21 over Fresno St.
Oregon's offence has turned out to be a major force with the defence being more inconsistent. After three weeks Oregon has clearly set itself as the best in the North West. Record 3-0

Oregon St.
Win 61-10 over Idaho St.
Hard to tell anything from the game due to weakness of opponent. Record 2-1

Western Washington:
loss 45-10 to Nebraska-Omaha
Outclassed, snaps 4 game winning streak. Record 1-1

MLB Mid-Season Predictions

AL East:

1.Boston-Too great of lead to give up

2.New York-Will play better in 2nd half, should become competitive in Wild Card race, but too far behind Boston.

3.Toronto-If Yankees don't heat up Toronto has a chance at 2nd, but will not be a factor in the Wild Card Race.

4.Baltimore- Starters will keep them out of last.

5.Tampa Bay-Starters will put them in last.

AL Central:

1.Detroit-Combination of starters and offence make Detroit most talented team in baseball.

2.Minnesota-Not as talented as Cleveland, but much more consistent.

3.Cleveland- If they play to their potential, they will make the playoffs.

4.Chicago-Have a shot at .500 in the best case.

5.Royals-Are in striking distence of 4th at the break.

AL West:

1. LA Angels-I trust them more than Seattle.

2. Seattle- In a shocking 1st half the Mariners are only 3 games behind Boston for the best record in baseball.

3.Oakland- Yet again are in trouble at the break. Angels are too good to be passed, and Oakland has been unable to take advantage of Seattle thus far.

4.Texas-Not as bad as their record, but it is highly unlikely Texas can move up to 3rd.

NL East:

1.New York-The Mets have the best chance of building up a lead, but could easily lose the division.

2.Atlanta-Has a great chance of winning the division, but I can't see them running away with it.

3.Philly-Not as good as New York or Atlanta, but could take the division if they both falter.

4.Florida-Team does not have enough exp. to make up deficit.

5.Washington-May not finnish dead last in MLB!!!

AL Central:

1.Chicago-Brewers are unreliable, and the Cubs can make the division lead disapear rather quickly.

2.Milwaukee-Will probably just miss the playoffs, but the Brewers are well on their way to their first winning season in over a decade.

3.St. Louis-The best of the remaining 4.

4.Houston Astros-Clemens will not bail them out this year.

5.Pittsburgh-Underacheving team may finish as high as 3rd!

6.Reds-If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

NL West:

1.Dodgers: San Diego and Arizona are overacheving.

2.San Diego-Not having an offense will catch up to them.

3.Colorado-Very talented if inconsistent.

4.Arizona-Many of their young players are overated.

5.San Francisco-Old and not that good in general.

Wild Cards:
AL: Yankees
NL: Atlanta

NY over Chicago in 3

Democratic Debate Rankings

1. Hillary Clinton: Seemed to have all of the right answers.

2. Joe Biden: Very Presidential, gave the line of the night by answering simply "yes" to a question.

3. Barack Obama: Not a good overall performance, but Kucinich and Gravel bailed him out at the end.

4. John Edwards: OK overall, but stalling on God question may hurt him a bit, although not much with Democrats.

5. Dennis Kucinich: Seemed sane with Gravel there.

6. Chris Dodd: Was he even at the debate?

7. Bill Richardson: Very poor performance, took to long and seemed flustered, I am undecided again.

8. Mike Gravel: Funny. Personal attacks galore. The highlight was when he asked Obama what country he wanted to nuke.

Presidential Contender: Rudy Giuliani

This week's 2008 presidential contender profile is on former New York city mayor, Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani has shot up to the top of the GOP field which is somewhat surprising due to his personal history (3 wives) and some of his political stances.

Issues:

Fiscal Responsibility: cut bureaucracy other than law enforcement and education.

Taxes: Supports supply-side economics.

Iraq: Against timetable, stay in until job is done, supports surge.

Judges: Would appoint Scalia type judges

Education: increase funding, supports charter schools

Abortion: Pro-Choice

Gun Control: supports gun-control

Gay marriage: supports civil unions

So far Rudy's unpopular social views have not hurt him, but there is a possibility that they still could. I believe Rudy's strength shows that the Republicans as a whole are scared, so they have become willing to give up to a large extent at least for the short term on several issues that have been key to them in the past such as gun control, abortion, and Gay marriage. Rudy would definitely be the strongest candidate for the GOP, but I'm still not convinced that the Republicans will indeed go for Rudy. I personally will not vote for Rudy because he is an obnoxious Yankees fan.

Presidential Contender: Jim Gilmore

This week 2008 candidate profile, is former Republican Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore.

Issues:

Taxes: Supports Bush Tax cuts, touts tax-cutting record as governor, opposes taxation on the Internet

Immigration: opposes amnesty

Iraq: supports surge, opposes timetable

2nd Amendment: opposes gun control

Abortion: Pro-choice

Gay Marriage: opposes marriage and civil-unions

Gilmore has been out of politics since 2002 when he left office. Gilmore has run by far the most lackluster campaign, and one wonders does he really want to win? His views are very conservative, and he is trying to run as one of the five or six "true conservative" candidate. I would not support him in the general, but I won't have to since he has no chance in the primaries.

Dream Season

With baseball just starting up again, fans in most cities take a look at their team and say "hey if we don't have any injuries, that one Rookie turns out well, our third baseman learns how to hit, and if a few of our rivals best players are suspended for steroids, we could have a chance." Bill Richardson for President

After three months of waiting I am finally ready to back a candidate for president. After taking a close look at all of the Democratic hopefuls, as well as a few of the more reasonable Republican hopefuls I have decided that the candidate who would make the best president is New Mexico Governor, Bill Richardson.

I know Richardson is considered a long shot, and he is, but if any of the non-big three candidates can move up it's Richardson, and I see no reason to pick a candidate who is first tear, but is of second tear quality. And I have some major problems with each of the top three Democrats:

Clinton: Has tried to sell out the last couple of years to make herself more electable.

Edwards: not a lot of experience, and a bit of an empty suit.

Obama: Too little experience.

But it's not just that I am unenthusiastic about the top Democratic candidates, I am also very impressed with Richardson's record: 14 years as a US congressperson, two years as US Ambassador to the United Nations, two years as US Secretary of Energy, and he has just started his second term as governor of New Mexico.

As governor Richardson has been ranked as one of the most fiscally responsible Governors. Richardson has also been one of the leading American diplomats for over a decade, being sent to places such as Sudan and North Korea, and has even been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize four times.

Richardson for President. (Unless maybe if Gore runs)

Presidential Contender: John Edwards

This weeks presidential profile is on former Democratic North Carolina Senator, John Edwards. Edwards is of course most famous for coming in second to John Kerry in the 2004 Democratic Primary, and being the Vice Presidential candidate last election. Before entering politics Edwards was a personal injury trial lawyer, and is a multi-millionaire.

Issues:

Health Care: Require businesses to help pay for employees health care, make health insurance mandatory.

Iraq: against

Immigration: supports work visas, expand legal immigration

Energy: invest more in renewable energy sources

Abortion: pro-choice

-note: Not a lot of information on Edwards policy stances is available

At the moment Edwards is in third place, but is well behind Clinton and Obama. I have been surprised at how much of his support from 04 has remained, even after a lack-luster performance as running mate, and the bitterness in general that democrats feel from the last election. In the primaries I will not support him, since he was only a one-term senator, who would be four years removed from power, and had an overall unimpressive term in the Senate. In the general I may take a serious look at McCain if he's the nominee, but I can't see myself voting for any of the other Republican front runners over Edwards.

Presidential Contender: Chris Dodd

Chris Dodd is a long time Senator (5 terms) from Connecticut. Dodd also served as a US Congressman for three terms before being elected to to Senate in 1980. Dodd serves on the following committees in the Senate, Rules and Administration, Foreign Relations, Health Education Labor and Pensions, and Banking Housing and Urban Affairs. Dodd was also the Chairman of the DNC from 1995 to 1997.

Issues:

Security: reimburse soldiers for body armor, increase funding for fire fighters.

Education: Increase funding for Head Start, reform No Child Left Behind, increase funding of special education, expand student loans and grants, make tuition tax deductible.

Energy/Environment: Increase car mileage, mandate that 20% of US energy come from renewable sources, tax incentives for ethanol re-join Kyoto.

Economy: Increase funding of SBA, increase technical training for women, increase the self-employment health deduction, exempt small businesses from the estate tax.

Dodd is is one of the most experienced candidates in the field, but is also one of the most unexciting. There is nothing about him that is different from the rest of the candidates, even his experience which should be his most valuable asset is equaled Biden who seems to be running a more serious campaign. Unless Dodd comes out with some major policy proposal I see no reason to support him during the Primary, however if he some how makes it to the general, I would be perfectly comfortable with voting for him.

Vilsack Out

Today Iowa governor Tom Vilsack ended his presidential campaigned do to lack of funds. Vilsack who in spite of being a two term Iowa governor, was polling fourth and was around five percent elsewhere. It is unknown where Vilsack's support will go, since it had been rumored that he was in the race to help Hillary, but was running primarily on an anti-war platform.

Democratic Nevada Forum Rankings

My rankings of the Democratic candidates preformence at todays Candidate forum in Nevada. Note Dodd spoke but I was unable to see him because of class, so he is not in my rankings.

1.Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack: Just an over all good preformence.

2.New York Senator Hillary Clinton: Clinton made another solid preformence much like her recent stops in Iowa and New Hampshire.

3.New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson: Lacked energy but put a good foot forward by stressing experience and campaine civility.

4.Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards: A standerd Edwards speel, but with seemingly less energy.

5.Delaware Senator Joe Biden: OK over all but oozed his annoying Bideness.

6.Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich: Would have ranked him a spot or two higher, but he left the stage spining around in circles, with his arms out yelling "no strings attatched" over and over again.

7.Former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel: Was bumbling the whole way through and seemed agitated.

Sunday, February 18, 2007

Presidential Contender: Hillary Clinton

This week's 2008 Presidential profile is Democrat Hillary Clinton. Clinton is of course best known for being the wife of former president Bill Clinton, but in 2000 was elected herself as a Senator from the state of New York. In the Senate Clinton sits on the Committee on Armed Services, Committee on Environment and Public Works, Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and the Special Committee on Aging.

Issues:

Education: Against Vouchers, Against organized Prayer.

Environment: Pro-Kyoto Protocol, Anit-ANWAR dirlling.

Budget/Taxes/Economy: Supports repeal of Bush tax cuts, Pro-free-trade.

Net Neutrality: Supports

Health Care: Subsidise poor.

Iraq: Against withdrawl

Abortion; Pro-Choice

Gay Marriage: For civil unions and against marriage.

Flag Burning: Supports anti-Flag burning Amendment.

Stem Cells: Supports federal funding for embryonic research.

Video Games: Tighter regulaton.

I have mixed feelings about Clinton politically, while I support her on issues such as the environment, I am puzzled on some of her possisions such as the flag burning amendment, and she seems to be the most pro-war Democrat running. In the early stages I will not support her, but I would be willing to if the some of the candidates I like drop out. In the general I would probably vote Hillary, but would take a look at the Republican if they nominate a moderate. As it stands now Hillary is the clear front runner, but she has not won yet, but look for her to be in it until the bitter end.

Grades

My grades for the early campaigns of the 08 hopefulls:

Demorats:

Joe Biden: F : In spite of running a "clean" campaign.

Hillary Clinton: A- : She has not faded at all and has been well recieved other than her "webcast" she had after first announcing.

Chris Dodd: C : Has not done anything wrong but also has not done anything right, the best thing to happen to him so far is Bidens self-destruction.

John Edwards: B- : His campaine has been mixed he has polled well in some states but has also made some mistakes such as his anti-catholic bloggers.

Mike Gravel: B : The fact that he was allowed to speak at the winter meetings was a victory.

Dennis Kucinich: D : Has not capitalized on liberal Democrats and name rec.

Barack Obama: B : Has gone from a freshman Senator to a leading democratic candidate in just a few months.

Bill Richardson: C : Has just entered and has not done much so far.

Tom Vilsack: C+ : Made a good move by being the first (other than Gravel) to announce, but has been over shadowed by the bigger names.

Republicans:

Sam Brownback: D : Has failed to gain any ground inspite of possible conservative opening.

Jim Gilmore: D- : He finnaly made a web site.

Rudy Giuliani: B+ : Has gained in the polls, but has also leaked sensitive campaine materials.

Mike Huckabee: Has been impresive on tv, but has not gained any real ground.

Duncan Hunter: B- : Unknown but has gotten several endorcements.

John McCain: C- : Remains at or near the top, but seems to be fading.

Ron Paul: D+ : Has not done anything so far.

Mitt Romney: B : Has raised a lot of money
and gained a lot of endorcements, but is still running well behind Rudy and McCain.

Tom Tancredo: C : No news is good news with Tom.

Tommy Thompson: C+ : Remains low on the Power Rankings, but seems to be focused on a White House run.

Presidential Contender: Sam Brownback

This week's White House hopefull profile is Republican Kansas Senator Sam Brownback. Brownback began his political career in 1986, when he became the Kansas secretary of Agriculture where he served until 1993. In 1994 Brownback was elected to the US House of Representatives where he served until he won a special election to take the Senate seat of the retiring Bob Dole. In the Senate Brownback serves on the Judiciary Commitee and the Appropriations Committee. Brownback converted to Catholicism after belonging to an evangelical church.

Political positions:

Agriculture-Increase development of bio-fules and ethanol.

Culture-Fine media outlets which promote violent and indecent programing.

Education-Pro-vouchers

Gun control-Pro-gun rights

Gay marriage-Against marriage and civil unions.

Rural America-Create a new Homstead Act to revitalize Rural America.

UN-Reduce size of UN.

Church and State- Reduce the seperation of Curch and State

Taxes-Keep Bush tax cuts and simplify tax code by introducing a flat-tax.

Abortion-Against Roe v. Wade.

Evolution-Supports the teaching of intelligent design.

Capital Punishment-Reduce use of Death Penalty.

Iraq-Against Surge.

Stem Cell-Against embrionic reserch

I am impressed that Brownback more than many other politicians seems to deeply believe in his political possitions, and is not just pandering for his own gain, however he stands to the right of the current Republican leaders and would be too conservative for me to support in the general. Brownback's campaine seems to be floundering, since he has gained almost no ground since entering the race and unless he can unite the right behind him and not Romney or any of the other Republican hopefulls who are looking to be the candidate of the right, Brownback is going nowhere.

February Sucks

For the month which has the Super Bowl one would think that February would be a good sports month, but it isn't in fact February is the worst month for sports in the year. All February has got is the boring NBA and NHL regular seasons, where January has most of the NFL playoffs, and March has Spring training and March madness.

Months ranked in order from best to worst for sports:

1.October
2.April
3.September
4.March
5.November
6.June
7.January
8.December
9.May
10.July
11.August
12.February

Presidential Contender: Joe Biden

Today I will be starting a new series on the 2008 Presidential hopefulls. I will give background info, their stances on the issues and my personal opinion of them.

The first Presidential Hopefull I will do is Delaware Senator, Joe Biden. Biden has served in the Senate since 1973 and is the Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and has been the Chair of the Judiciary Committee in the past. Biden made a run in 1988, but was forced to leave the race before the first primary, because of several mistakes most notably plagiarizing a speech from the then leader of the British Labor party Neil Kinnock.

Biden on the issues:

Iraq: Against spliting country, share oil revenues between the three different groups, greter international involvement including Iran, and Draw down US forces to about 20,000.

Afghanistan: Greater US involvement, inculding a possible troop increase and greater economic aid.

Energy: Increase fule efficiency, and increase use of biodiesel and ethonal.

Health Care: Modernize the system, by switching to electronic records, thus speeding up the system.

Higher Education: Increase tuition tax deduction, expand Pell grants, and expand national service programs.

Homeland Security: Take away tax cuts from wealthy to provide greater funding for Homeland Security. The funds will goto: screaning ships, protect chemical facilities, air cargo screaning, expand FBI and local law enforcement, and create local anti-terorism units.

Crime: Restore greater funding to local and state law enforcement.

Golbal Warming: Invest in technology to reduce emisions, and reduce trade from contries who are not improving.

Biden showed why he will likely never be President last week. On the day he announced, he made some stupid comments about fellow Democrat Barack Obama, that compleatly overshadowed him entering the race. Before his Obama comments, he had been gaining slightly, but now any slim chance he had has now gone up in smoke. I will not be supporting Biden in the Primary, and would consider the Republican in the General.

Colts Win

It is final, Colts 29, Bears 17. It should not have been that close. Congratulations to Indianapolis on their first championship since 1973.

Super Bowl 41 Prediction

Both Chicago and Indy stuck it to me in the Playoffs. I twice picked against Chicago against my better judgment, firt I picked my Seattle Seahawks, who to their credit were only five yards or so away from winning, second I picked the Saints, in what I will admit was a terible pick, and I whent with my heart and not my gut or head. Indy on the other hand came as a complete suprise to me I did pick them against Kansas City who was a popular upset pick, but I thought they had no chance against Baltimore, but Baltimore had other plans and put up the worst offensive game in the Playoffs. Next game I figured that Indy had just lucked out and I picked against them since they were facing a team who had just knocked off the #1 team in football, and had the Colts number, all seemed well for a while until Manning was able to lead the Colts back, and thus making me look like a fool in my Playoff Predictions.

On to the game, there are reasons to pick both teams, the Colts won in the better confrence, while the Bears have the better defense on paper, and Grossman has out played Manning so far in the Playoffs. As far as momentum goes the Colts have won three playoff games in the AFC, but loss four of their last seven during the regular season. The Bears have won all but one game since December, but have only two impressive wins during that span (St.Louis and New Orleans). During the playoffs the two teams have swaped roles Indy has been the better team on Defense while Chicago has been the better team on Offense.

In Super Bowl 41 I pick Indianapolis over Chicago. The good news for Chicago fans is this probably means that they will win. Indeed Chicago stands a much better chance than most in the national media give them. I chose Indy because I feel that they have had a tougher road to the Super Bowl.Although both teams have deminstrated that they could lose to anybody.

2008 Indiana Gubernatorial Election Predictions

The incombant Governor is Republican Mitch Daniels, who was the first Republican Governor of Indiana in 20 years when elected. The best option for the Democrats seems to be former US Congressman Tim Roemer, who also seved on the 9/11 Commission

Daniels seems to be vaulnerable at this point of time, since his poll numbers have been mainly in the 30's and 40's for the last year in a half or so. I predict that Daniels will hold on with help from the presidential elections with a 2 to 3 point win over Democrat Roemer.

2008 Missouri Gubernatorial Election Predictions

The Republicans will likely renominate incumbent governor Matt Blunt. The Strongest option for the Democrats is likely four term Missouri attorney-general Jay Nixon, who has already filed paperwork for a run.

In 2004 Blunt won 51% to 48% over now Senator Claire McCaskill, and Blunt has amoung the lowest aproval ratings of any Governor, at 33%. Nixon is over all a very popular Attorney-General, and has a near 20 point lead in early polls. I predict that Nixon will take the seat by 4 to 5 points.

NFL Round 3 Predictions

New Orleans over Chicago: The Saints beat a better team last round, and Hollywood is probably rigging the game for the movie deal.

New England over Indianapolis: The Pats have just been too impressive lately, and playing on the road does not seem to bother them (8-1).

2008 Race

Were still a year away from the first caucuses an primaries, yet numerous candidates have already, either entered or have taken steps towards entering. So who to support? At this point given the number of potential candidates and the amount of time left it is premature, yet tempting to pick a candidate as of now. I have come up with a compromise for myself, I will not chose a candidate yet, but I will make a decision on March 7th, which is still too early, but at least I kept my mind open for a while.

NFL Divisional Playoff Predictions

Baltimore over Indianapolis: Baltimore has been a bit under the radar this year, but they are a damn good team. Indy is a fairly poor road team (4-4), while Baltimore is a solid team at home (7-1).

Philedelphia over New Orleans: Philly is hot. They have won their last 6, while New Orleans has loss four of their last five at home.

Seattle over Chicago: Seattle has played decently in their last three games, including coming within one blown coveage from beating San Diego. Chicago on the other has not been playing their best football lately. After Romo anything is possible.

New England over San Diego: Both teams enter on hot steaks. New England is 7-1 on the road and San Diego is 8-0 at home. Quarterback will be the difference maker, Brady is one of the best playoff Quarterback in history, while River's play has been shaky the last few games, including two games they nearly loss to teams in the NFC West.

Where I Stand

The quiz is overly simple, but here is my resault.

BCS

Yet another season of college football is over. While Florida clearly showed that they were worthy of the Natioonal Championship, I still think that it is time to implement a playoff system. I really did not care one way or another about having the current bowl system or a playoff system untill the Fiesta Bowl, non-BCS teams must have a chance to win the championship.
I will propose three systems to fix the problem.

1. An eight team playoff to be played over three weeks. The champions of the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10, and SEC, would get a spot. One spot would go to the best non-BCS confrence school, but only if that team ran the table, and played at least one BCS school during their non-confrence scedual. The final spot would be given to an at large team, as well as the non-BCS spot if no non-BCS school ran the table.

2. Keep the bowl system in place, only have the two top bowl teams play for the National Championship. So this year it would have been Florida vs. Boise State.

3. Keep the system that is now in place but demote all schools who are not members of the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10, or SEC.

My first solution would be my ideal, but my second and solution would be easier to implement, but would be more controversial, since computers and polls would be more involved in deciding the Champion. My third system would be hard to implement, since some of the Universitys are bound to put up a fight over being demoted, and there would be far fewer bowl games.
