Bill Richardson for President

After three months of waiting I am finally ready to back a candidate for president. After taking a close look at all of the Democratic hopefuls, as well as a few of the more reasonable Republican hopefuls I have decided that the candidate who would make the best president is New Mexico Governor, Bill Richardson.

I know Richardson is considered a long shot, and he is, but if any of the non-big three candidates can move up it's Richardson, and I see no reason to pick a candidate who is first tear, but is of second tear quality. And I have some major problems with each of the top three Democrats:

Clinton: Has tried to sell out the last couple of years to make herself more electable.

Edwards: not a lot of experience, and a bit of an empty suit.

Obama: Too little experience.

But it's not just that I am unenthusiastic about the top Democratic candidates, I am also very impressed with Richardson's record: 14 years as a US congressperson, two years as US Ambassador to the United Nations, two years as US Secretary of Energy, and he has just started his second term as governor of New Mexico.

As governor Richardson has been ranked as one of the most fiscally responsible Governors. Richardson has also been one of the leading American diplomats for over a decade, being sent to places such as Sudan and North Korea, and has even been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize four times.

Richardson for President. (Unless maybe if Gore runs)
