2007 Mississippi Prediction

In 2007 Mississippi will hold their gubernatorial election along with Louisiana and Kentucky. The Republican will send up incumbent Governor Haley Barbour. The Democrats have several potential candidates including, Head of the Mississippi Democrats Wayne Dowdy, Mississippi Supreme Court member James Graves, ex-Governor Ray Mabus, ex Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore, and ex-Governor Ronnie Musgrove.
Governor Barbour has a very high approval rating of almost 60%, so the Democrats will not likely put up much of a campaign. Some potential candidates who have potential for strong political aspirations such as Moore may forgo this election cycle, and wait for a better time. I predict that Ronnie Musgrove will come out with the Democratic nomination, and then will lose to Barbour in a landslide.
